In the morning, our tour guide will wait at the hotel lobby and we start to transfer to visit Nom village - an ancient hundreds year old village. Only one-hour-drive from center of Hanoi city, Nom village is situated on a long historical land surrounded by vast green rice paddies. Step off your car to attend the morning local market session which still remains as the popular local market in a Northern village of Vietnam with red brick cottages, it only opens on some specific days of the months in Lunar calendar. Walking through the market, you will find yourself standing in front of Nom pagoda's gate. Built in 1680, the pagoda is famous for its architectural specialties and precious religious relics including 122 terracotta Buddhist statues. Have a seat and take a rest inside Bonsai garden of the pagoda where there are many beautiful old bonsai trees are displayed. Engage in a conversation with the local over a cup of traditional tea and have some snacks to learn more about local life and the traditions that define this community. Continue walking on the hard brick road, this will lead you to the popular 200-year-old marble bridge which has been standing there across the river for a long time and become the symbol of the village with its special architecture & history. Stop at Nom village gate with very special architecture which has been kept the same since 1855. Nom Village is one of the last villages which remain the ancient beauty with a beautiful combination of communal house, an ancient well and a banyan tree. Walk along the narrow central road around the pond, stop in front of Nom's communal house, watch its ancient beauty and travel back in time, it is also a temple which is dedicated to worship an ancient general. Nowadays, Nom communal house still remains as the place for villagers to gather on special occasions. Get back to your car and return to Hanoi.
