Then take a small boat that usually rowed by women, boat time is about 2 hours, we reach the foot of the mountain. From the boat dock, you will hike about 3km to the main pagoda where great numbers of Buddhist pilgrims come during Tet holiday in the middle of the second lunar month.
Perfume pagoda is not one temple but a cluster of temples and shrines in the general vicinity of Perfume Mountain. According to the book “Huong Son Thien Tru Pha”, Perfume temple was built during the reign of Le Chinh Hoa (1680 -1705), by a monk who happened on the site on his way to search for enlightenment. Other shrines and temples were later built in this area since attracted by the beautiful scenery. Please note that the path to the summit is steep and very slippery when it’s rain. Luckily, there is now a cable car service so you can combine to use the cable up and then walk down if you like. Afternoon, return to your hotel in Hanoi
