Said to be the most beautiful temple ruin within the Angkor Era, Banteay Srei is built from pink sandstones. Built in the 12th century, Beng Mealea is one of the Khmer Empire’s largest temples. But unlike Angkor Wat, it is mostly unrestored. Its current state is dominated by jungle with tree roots and twisted brush taking over its towers, courtyards and chambers.
