Explore the fascinating Yangon taking in the city’s best landmarks with our day trip. Visit the reclining Buddha at Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda, followed by a panoramic view of the Royal Lake. Continue to the Shwedagon Pagoda towering over the city. This is the most sacred site in the country built to house several hair relics of the Buddha. This full day tour today we will show you the different faces of Yangon. We start from the bottom of the hill and passing the workshops, small downtown area including several markets, colonial buildings and monasteries, which will be useful or even essential to understand more of the country during the rest of your journey.  You’ll also visit Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Image, and make a short stop at the Royal Lake where you can admire the view of the Karaweik Hall overlooking this scenic lake.

Afterwards, Enjoy the sunset at Shwedagon Pagoda, famous world wide - its golden stupa is the 'heart' of Buddhist Myanmar. The Pagoda is believed to be 2,500 years old and the central stupa in surrounded by dozens of intricately decorated buildings and statues. There are always many Myanmar people praying and making offerings at Shwedagon, and it's a fascinating place to spend time watching the world go by. So what’s behind the golden façade of the Shwedagon Pagoda? You will learn about the full history of the pagoda, the daily life of all people living in its immediate surroundings and a deeper insight in the Buddhist religion and how the spiritual belief is mixed with the belief in nats– the Myanmar spirits. Walk the nearby markets after sunset and enjoy the intense sights and sounds of Myanmar. Tour will end at your hotel in late afternoon
