Soak up Luang Prabang’s languid atmosphere by wandering the streets at dawn when lines of saffron-robed monks receive alms from the kindly residents. Discover charming Luang Prabang, starting with a visit to a bookshop. Explore local villages of Lao ethnic minorities which are also known for their traditional handicrafts. Head out of town and enjoy the serene beauty of the Kuang Si Falls, with exotic surrounds of flora and fauna. You also have the chance to swim in the refreshing turquoise pools of water.
Meet up with your private guide at your hotel lobby. An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession.
Return to hotel for breakfast before continuing a stroll around the city to visit Big Brother Mouse, which is the most famous bookshop in Laos. The next stop is Ock Pop Tock, meaning East Meets West, where you can learn about the traditional weaving in Laos. Laos is also known for its traditional handicrafts, and today you will visit local village of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay and Ban Thapene. Your guide will bring you to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the pools and hike around the falls if wanted. Return to Luang Prabang, you’ll also stop to visit the Kuang Si Falls Butterfly Park, one of the must-visit spots, newly opened on January 2014. Tour ends at your hotel
